...And the Winner Is!!!
First place, Coastal Concessions from Wendell, NC! Jim Youker makes delicious funnel cake to begin with. But when he added his special Blackberry topping, vanilla ice cream and a handful of blackberries for garnish - it was to die for!

Second place went to Land-Do! in Winterville, NC for their Blackberry Cookie Dough. Brenda Wright’s recipe included homemade blackberry jam and tasted like blackberry cobbler. Yum!

Third Place went to Simply Natural Creamery in Ayden, NC for their delicious Blackberry Ice Cream. They raise their own cows on their farm. The cows graze in open pastures on natural feed growing there. Hence the name: Simply Natural Creamery.

In addition to these winners, we had several vendors that made delicious blackberry lemonade. Basnight’s Lone Cedar from Manteo made a blackberry compote for their mouthwatering coconut shrimp. We had blackberry kettle corn and more.

The NC Black Bear Festival and Blackberry Extravaganza would like to extend our hearty thanks to all our vendors for making this such a special event!
The Retail Vendors were judged on the way they decorated their booth in keeping with our black bear and blackberry theme. Even though the judges awarded only the top three, all our retailers combined to carry our theme throughout the Festival grounds in a wonderful way. So here are our winners:
1st Place: Wildlife Pyrography
2nd Place: Harvest Time/Capturing the Journey
3rd Place: United Fund of Washington County
